The Eco-Suites

Each large 42sqm eco-suite boasts a queen-size bed along with a super-twin size daybed, mini-fridge, hot/cold water dispenser, universal outlet strip with USB ports, separate vanity area, ample storage space, and two separate large showers (indoor with hot water and outdoor). You’ll be able to take in the views from your private comfy outdoor patio seating as you sip on the complimentary coffee/tea provided daily. You’ll also be able to decide how you let the rest of the world in with your private Wi-Fi modem. Keep in touch with family, friends, or work on your own terms or connect your laptop as needed to either send a few emails or enjoy your favorite series.

Our spacious open concept home offers the ultimate opportunity to spend time with those you love and those you chose to vacation with, whether playing a board game, listening to music, watching your favorite Netflix series, or just chatting about your day’s adventures.

Our home is perfect for two couples with children (the bunk beds are a hit and do actually sleep more than 4 adults due to the large-size mattresses) or large families/groups needing multiple sleeping options. We are also very baby/toddler friendly and can provide a baby cot, highchair, pool floater, and baby bath on request at no additional charge. Be advised, there is strictly NO SMOKING, and you must be at least slightly dog-friendly (don’t worry our lovable dogs will not have access to your home/patio but they may want to give you some love if they see you out and about the property!).

Why Sekotong and Why The Phoenix Villas

Sekotong was named as the “best upcoming tourist destination in Lombok” in 2014. The government widened all roads and improved access to Sekotong considerably at that time.

Sekotong has been touted as an “an underwater tourism destination comparable to Raja Ampat”  since the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries designated the region’s three most-visited islands of Gili Nanggu, Gili Sudak and Gili Tangkong as marine conversation areas. It’s also home to the only Marine Aquaculture Development Center on the island as well as the hub for NGO Deep Blue Sea, the island’s only coral restoration and preservation initiative. Sekotong is home to Budaya Mutiara, a fully operating saltwater pearl farm. Tour their traditional operation and see how pearls are grown and perhaps take home a beautiful, personally harvested souvenir.

Sekotong proudly displays its world-renown Mangrove preserve that features a pier along with a floating restaurant.  In fact, the UK NGO Blue Marine Foundation has recently signed a 3-year agreement to work in cooperation with local leaders to continue the fight to protect these rapidly disappearing natural wonders.

Sekotong’s Bangko Bangko, one of the top 10 best surfing spots in the world, attracts more experienced surfers from distant corners of the globe all year round.

Sekotong has been recognized for its incredible potential. Along with a myriad of boutique accommodations, it currently has two major branded hotels, namely the Sundancer Resort Lombok and Cocotinos, but we are thrilled to welcome Hotel Kempinski with its 254 rooms on Makaki Beach (scheduled to open in 2025). Moreover, both the Grande Golf & Country Club and an international hospital and retirement center are under construction and scheduled to be operational in 2026.

Sekotong has Lembar Harbor, the dominant island harbor, which hosts slow ferries every 2 hours that connect our string of islands to Bali. It also features the only separate cruise ship port on the island at Sekontong’s Tawun Harbor, which is expected to be in use by the end of 2023 by two major cruise lines. Tawun Harbor is also a new fast boat destination pick-up/drop-off point from Bali’s Padang Bai Harbor.

Sekotong’s Gili Gede offers Marina Del Ray, the only international standard, foreign flagged deep marina in Lombok with well protected year-round entry port, yacht mooring, long-term slip rentals, fuel provisions, and utility hook-ups, with full-service Yacht Club, yacht chartering, hotel, and PADI dive center.

Sekotong also has one of the only garbage collection programs to clean up beaches and high traffic areas in villages. International Hubs Direct to Bali (DPS) — Ngurah Rai International Airport is the third largest airport in Indonesia. It is an international airport. In total there are 41 airports around the world that have direct flights to Denpasar, spread around 39 cities in 14 countries. From Denpasar, Bali (DPS) to Praya, Lombok (LOP), flight time is approximately 30-45 minutes. From Bali, tourists can take the slow ferry to Lembar Harbour (approximately 4-hour trip and 30 minutes from us upon arrival) or the fast speedboat to Tawun Harbour (approximately 2-hour trip and 5 minutes from us upon arrival).

International Hubs Direct to Lombok (LOP) —Singapore, Perth, and Kuala Lumpur are currently the only foreign direct flights post-covid but as tourism gains momentum, the direct flights will resume pre-covid conditions and expand far beyond. Aside from Bali, the capital city of Jakarta (CGK) is the second most popular arrival hub for international flights. Once in Jakarta, the flight to Lombok is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. From the LOP airport, it is a beautiful, relaxing 50-minute drive to reach us.

From Kuta: There are two routes from Kuta that lead you to our oasis. First, the longer scenic route along Jl. Raya Sepi will take you up and down mountains and along the coast and take about 2 hours. Second, the more direct route using the airport bypass headed to Lembar, which will take 1.5 hours. Transfers can be arranged.

From Senggigi: We are located approximately 2 hours from the heart of Senggigi. The route is scenic, taking you through the open rice patty fields and along the new highway system built to optimize travel. Transfers can be arranged.

From Mataram: It will take approximately 1.25 hours and follow the same route as from Senggigi since Mataram is located just further south. Transfers can be arranged.

Booking, Long Term Renting, and Cancelation

A deposit of 50% is required at the time of booking. This will be directly applied to your final bill. For weekly, monthly, or longer rentals, this may be adjusted. Your reservation is not confirmed until your deposit is received.

While there is not a separate cleaning deposit taken for booking, there is a $250.00 USD cleaning fee added to the accommodation bill due 30 days prior to check-in. This is a one-time charge regardless of how long the villa is rented.

We accept all major Visa/MC credit cards. We also accept bank transfers to our Indonesian banking account or our multi-currency WISE account.

The full accommodation charge and cleaning fees are paid 30 days prior to check-in or upon booking if your arrival is less than 30 days. These can be paid in cash (USD/IDR) or via credit card. Additional charges including food & beverage, spa services, excursions/activities, transportation & transfers, and/or souvenirs are paid at the time of purchase (cash/credit).

Yes. We require a credit card on file that will be authorized only.

Full refund is made prior to 60 days of arrival. 75% refund is made prior to 30 days of arrival. 50% refund is made prior to 14 days of arrival. No refund is made after 14 days prior to arrival. Certain exceptions may apply. Guests are encouraged to purchase travel insurance.

Simply contact us. We offer weekly, monthly, and yearly rental agreements.

Amenities

Considering the fact we are nestled away, we do not yet have fiber optic internet. However, each and every Eco-Suite and Villa is provided with a separate mobile modem for the internet. We also have a modem in all common areas for your convenience and connectivity needs. We’ve had no problem with our guests being unable to stay in contact with their friends & family, work, watch their favorite shows on their personal devices, or surf the net.

Absolutely. Each Eco-Suite has its own private AC. Each Villa has multiple individually controlled AC units to keep you cool in any space or room in the villa. In addition, our solar water heaters ensure everyone can take a hot shower when they so desire.

Linen, bath towels, and kitchen towels are provided. Beach towels are also provided. For monthly or long-term rentals, we will continue to provide these items.

For holiday rentals, both Eco-Suites and Villas provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion. For monthly or long-term rentals, these items are not replaced after the initial allotment. Further hygiene/toiletry items must be purchased individually.

Neither our Eco-Suites nor our Villas provide cable.

In our Eco-Suites, we also do not provide a TV. Eco-Suites have an individual modem for Wi-fi to allow private (not shared) internet to stream your favorite shows on your device or laptop.

In our Villas, all TVs are smart TVs, and each villa has its own private modem to stream NetFlix or other online streaming platforms.

We are also very baby/toddler friendly and can provide a baby cot, highchair, pool floater, and baby bath on request at no additional charge. Don’t worry about bringing those bulky items with you.

Motorbike and vehicle parking are provided.

Eco-Suites are less than a 2-minute walk to our Café, Restaurant, and Bar. In-house guests are given discounted prices at our already very reasonable prices.

Villas are equipped with full-service kitchens. In addition to offering complimentary freshly ground coffee and tea daily, we can even make sure your favorite beverages are on hand before you arrive (additional charges depend on the beverages requested). We offer a private chef available to cook all pre-selected meals to perfection (extra charges apply). If you prefer cooking, we provide a full-service kitchen, complete with oven, stovetop, microwave, and baking/cooking pots/pans as well as small appliances such as a blender, toaster, and hand mixer. We also offer the option of taking you to a local grocery store for up to one hour at no charge upon arriving at the airport if you’d like to grab all your supplies for the week as our location is quietly nestled away from any big city clamor.

In addition, there is a local convenience store within about a 10-minute walk for local snacks and basic last-minute essentials. We are also lucky to have two outstanding in-house restaurants near us: the Silver Fern Beach Retreat and Sundancer Suites are within about a 15-minute walk (transport available). Local warungs (street food vendors/shops) are nearby, but we do advise using caution as the hygiene standards for food preparation may strongly differ than your own.

Our menu has both vegan and vegetarian options. If you have someone in your party that has specific food allergies or has special dietary restrictions such as Gluten Free or Keto, our private chef is amazing and can generally make a meal plan that accommodates anyone. However, this MUST be prearranged and prepaid for. Certain ingredients may need to be sourced from other islands well in advance.

Yes. We can arrange any of your meals to be served in a private gazebo on the beach with stunning views just down our mountain across the street (based on availability). We can also arrange a romantic, candle-lit dinner for two on the beach for special occasions. Additional charges apply.

Our private chef can make just about any meal to utter perfection. We can send you a list of options for group/individual meals or you can send specific requests or recipes you prefer. Be advised there are some ingredients completely unavailable in Lombok. We will do our best. Each week seems to be different, and we are happy to accommodate even the most specific requests. Pricing depends on portions, ingredient costs, and time required. All final pricing will be quoted and pre-paid prior to arrival.

Yes. For Eco-Suites holiday guests, we offer laundry service at $2 per kg. Villas come with their own washing machine and clothes drying rack. We do not use electric dryers throughout most of the year. We fully capitalize on our sunny weather.

General

We serve predominantly locally sourced food and offer vegan and vegetarian dining options. We employ a robust recycling regiment/policy and actively compost all organic waste.

We are a plastic free zone, providing each Eco-Suite and Villa with its own private water hot/cold dispensers to refill reusable bottles. Likewise, we do not use plastic cups, drinking straws, coffee stirrers or even allow single use coffee filters.

Even though our property has its own private well, we believe in water conservation. Our property has rainwater collection reservoirs to capture and reuse rainwater for watering our plants. All toilets are water-efficient, and we do only offer to wash linens and towels every 3 days.

We also support energy conservation. We use solar hot water heaters and only LED lighting. We also do not use any electric clothes dryers except for the height of rainy season (about 30 days) and only as needed.

Additionally, we are one of the primary founders and financial supporters of one of the only garbage collection and recycling programs in the province. We also adamantly support coral reef conservation and preservation efforts by sponsoring monthly investigative dives to protect the sensitive marine ecosystems around the islands in our area. In fact, 10% of our profits are reinvested into our local community for sustainability efforts. Help support us, so we can continue to support others!

We arrange snorkeling, traditional scuba diving, coral restoration & preservation diving, kayaking, paddle boarding, parasailing, surfing, deep sea fishing, boating, pearl farm touring, mangrove preserve touring, jungle trekking, and more. All of these incredible activities can be enjoyed directly from our cove or our immediate area except for surfing, which is nearby at Bangko Bangko (45 minutes from us and transfers can be provided). Payment for all these activities can be made directly to us as an additional to your bill for your convenience. No need to worry about paying various providers. No. We are directly across the street from the beach up on our mountain. It is a 3-to-5-minute walk.

For Eco-Suite guests, our staff is happy to help you arrange anything necessary. Simply ask for help.

For Villa guests, a basic local mobile phone is provided for guests to use if needed. This prevents guests from having to purchase a local SIM card to communicate with us or local businesses/activities.

How to Get Here

From Bali, you have three options.

The second is the fast speedboat that departs from Padang Bai Harbour in Bali and comes directly to our Tawun Harbour, which is approximately a 2-hour trip and 5 minutes from us upon arrival. The third is the public that also leaves from Padang Bai Harbour and arrives at Lembar Harbour, which is approximately a 4-hour trip and 30 minutes from us upon arrival. Transfers can be arranged.

The Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport (LOP) is the only international airport on Lombok. Once you arrive, there are many official and unofficial taxi services you can engage while existing the airport. Official providers may or may not use taxi meters, but they have standard rates for transport to Sekotong. The unofficial providers are usually private individuals, and the rate will need to be negotiated. Be advised that Grab and GoCar (under Gojek app) are generally not allowed into the airport. The pickup point will be very inconvenient for you. We also offer airport transfers to make your journey seamless.

We are happy to accommodate any request IF it’s possible. If your flight comes in early or leaves late and we don’t have current/immediate other guests, we are here for you. We just take this on a case-by-case basis. Certain additional fees may apply if necessary and/or reasonable.

One of our staff will escort you to your Eco-Suite or Villa. He/She will provide a tour of your space, making sure that all is in order and to your satisfaction. He/She will explain certain features, the Wi-Fi modem access/use, and note any of your special requests or needs at that time. All will be addressed.

One of our staff must perform a check-out inspection prior to your leaving the property. This is for both your and our protection. If items are missing or damage is discovered, charges will apply and must be paid prior to departure. You will be responsible for any damage to the property caused by you or your party during your stay.

Keys will be handed over directly and in-person upon arrival. If you’re arriving late, no worries—we will be there any time for you. Kindly do let us know your expected late hour arrival time.

In our Eco-Suites, there is strictly NO SMOKING inside or on the outside patios to avoid any fire hazards. There are NO EXCEPTIONS. Designated smoking areas are provided near the pool area. In our Villas, there is strictly NO SMOKING indoors. Smoking is allowed on the back patio.

Yes. We are very pet-friendly but do expect your SMALL pet to be potty-trained and well-behaved. However, we do reserve the right to allow pets on a case-by-case basis.

Housekeeping & Maintenance

Since our minimum stay is 5 days, your Suite or Villa will be cleaned & serviced and linens changed every 3 days. This leaves you with privacy and the convenience of carrying out your activities without interruption. Should you have special needs, let us know. Additional fees may apply.

No. Guests are instructed not to clean or launder any items in the villas upon their departure. Our housekeeping team follows very strict cleaning and sanitation standards and is required to clean the villas after each guest departs.

Our villas are equipped with most items that you would find in the average household. They feature a full-size refrigerator, microwave, stove/oven, utensils, dishes, pots and pans, and spices. We even provide an iron/ironing board and hairdryers.

For holidays, we supply toilet paper, paper towels, and multiple tissue boxes. For monthly or long-term renters, any of these supplies beyond the initial start-up amenities are to be supplied by the guest.
